I can’t stress enough the power of coaching in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Self-awareness is always the first step when thinking of DEI initiatives and coaching allows for this deep reflection. I can’t wait for the opportunity to bring awareness and transformation to your organization, work, and life.

On August 4th, 2000, I left my native Mexico to pursue a doctoral degree in Education at The University of Texas at Austin. As many other immigrants, you never forget the day you leave your home country. I had a burning desire for personal and professional growth, and I discovered the grit and resilience in me to finish the program in 2005.

I spent the following 15 years fighting deficit thinking views to help Latinx, underrepresented minority students improve their academic performance as an educational research project manager, professional development writer, trainer, and consultant. Managing diverse teams in institutions of higher education, I excelled at eliminating the noise and confusion that large projects present by being clearly focused on the people and systems needed to succeed. Whether the project was supporting a federal literacy initiative implemented across the state, managing longitudinal, multi-site research projects, or facilitating more than 1000 hours of training sessions nationally and internationally, I aligned and realigned all of the variables to achieve the greatest impact and success.

I later turned my scope to the workplace where I found that the underrepresented minority students whom I’ve seen in schools were now knocking on the doors of corporate America. I realized that things hadn’t changed a lot. These minority ex-students were not hired, promoted, or retained at the same level as the majority white individuals, and the ones who were, had to fight with all their might to be seen, valued, and heard. Time for change is here and clearer than ever!

I’m a proud Latina Working Mother. Family, fun, and connection are some of my top values. Continually navigating my two cultures, I’ve held tight to my identity while succeeding in the mainstream workplace without losing my “Latinidad”.

I’m a firm believer in human potential.

I’m a keen observer of other people’s strengths and I draw out the best in each person. I have found Coaching to be in total alignment with my professional development beliefs and skills. There is no process like Coaching to know yourself and change mindsets while moving towards action and excellence. It's my privilege to be able to provide this service to others.
